You have heard the expression "a face only a mother could love:-)"
Yep that was Aubrey, the night after a mosquito was in her room and viciously attacked those pretty green eyes, she was sooo swollen! So when we took her to the Goldeyes game she looked, well a little like an Alien - a klingon to be exact (only those familiar with Star Trek will know what that is!)
Needless to say lots of pics were taken anyway...because I have a project in the works!!! Will post pics soon, I know you will love it!
What!!! even I made it into a picture...no way!!!
Layout of miss Aubrey Jayde in a little bit of a silly position (no she is not going to the bathroom!)
Using Crate paper's "Brook" Collection, and that pretty little scalloped border is using the Martha Stewart double circle border punch...this is the line I am using for my little project with the baseball game pics:-) Love it, it is perfect for boys or girls!
here I used the "Dear Lizzy" line from American Crafts, the border is cut out of a patterned paper and added on with pop-dots, the title in green are "Thickers" and the sticker accents are part of the "Dear Lizzy" line, don't you just love this tree paper??? Soo cute!
I hope you have a great night!

Layout ideas...
I have a confession to make, I am obsessed with white flowers...don't get me wrong, I LOVE color - but when it comes to my yard, it's white or nothing...went to the greenhouse this afternoon and these are the newest blossoms to add to my collection of white:-) It took me 8 years to get a white garden of my dreams at my old house, we have now been at this house for 2 years and I need to start all over again...But the end result is sooo worth it!
I promised some more "masculine" layouts, though girly stuff is soo fun:-) here is a couple of 12x12 pages I have done in the last little while-
This one is a layout using Bo-Bunny's paradise line... I thought it was perfect for this picture my honey and I took in the Bahamas on a cruise a few years ago!
the typing was done on my old typewriter that was a find at the local mcc store - I love the look of imperfection and yet, it is much neater than my own handwriting! the bling, stickers, paper and rub-ons were all from the same line.
This line from Fancy Pants is also so masculine - I had to "scrap" these pics of my hubby and kids playing...he will literally throw them on the bed, on the pillows, and kids just can't get enough... using the Glitter-cuts in this layout, which are clear overlays with a little bit of sparkle, and you get 5-8 of them on a 12x12 sheet, so they are great value, and really help add a little pizazz to you layouts!
The paper here was cut around the floral design and then placed overlapping the photos, pop-dots are along the edge to give it a little 3D effect.
This is the same Fancy Pants line as above "Family Ties"
using the Glitter-Cuts from the same package, I attached the kids with mini glue-dots. The scallop circle border is a circle punch and I cut all the circles in half. The dot or "splatter" detail is a bit of glimmer mist.
Using the same paper line with co-ordinating accents can really help with your page planning, I love to plan a couple of pages and feel like I am "using up" my stuff. That way if use all my glitter-cuts or rub-ons on a couple of layouts, I am done with it, it does not take up any more space and I have an excuse to get something new!!!

playtime...
These 2 layouts are using Bella Blvd paper & chipboard,
Jillibean sticker letters & canvas flowers, buttons and ribbon from the store. Journaling about my silly girl, her curls and her obsession with hats:-) Photos in Sepia, because I liked the way it looked with the paper.
I love a large photo, if a photo is special, or you really like it, why not blow it up and make it take over your page? I wrote a quote right on the photo with an American Crafts Slick Writer - quote says "Precious jewel, you glow, you shine, reflecting all the Good things in the World" by Maya Angelou. The Letters for the title "Precious" are corrugated Alphas from Jillibean, the paper is from Jillibean as well, flower and green lace is from Basic Grey.
This Layout is honestly one of my favorite in a while, I love the photo, as it is not perfect, she is not even facing the camera head-on, but this is so her right now-too busy to look- gotta play! As well, I have always loved a white background, the words (life with you is one amazing adventure) is a stamp by Ali Edwards, which we have in the store right now. The leaf feels like canvas and is from Prima, the chipboard letters, ribbon, bee sticker, felt embellishment and paper are from American Crafts "Dear Lizzy" line, the tag is from Jillibean. The little punch out on the side of the white background, was the Apron Lace border punch.
Well thanks for looking! I will try and be a little more consistent with my posts, I am very flattered by those of you saying you are checking out the blog...todays post was very "Girly" I will go for more "boyish" pages next time!

getting ready for Red Lake
ok sorry it's been awhile, it seems all day at work and every evening, all I do is plan for Red Lake - what is this you ask? A scrabooking convention in Northern Ontario, where the ladies are so fun and LOVE this hobby so much. We load up a trailer and take it for a fun "road trip" Pam and Connie (co-workers) are my side kicks for this adventure of late nights and scrapbook hungry customers:-) I teach there, ALOT of classes, this time around I am teaching a Family Album (posted on the blog already:-) A glimmer mist class, 2different classes about working with transparencies on Scrapbook pages, Scrapbooks made easy (a class where we scrapbook with divided page protectors) Burnished Velvet, Alcohol Inks, a Cricut Schoolroom class... I think I got them all:-)

just a few of the fun things we will be doing... planning a few other fun things for the store too... and have just been scrapbooking for fun too! I went out to Winkler last Saturday for Super Scrap Day put on by Marci at My Scrap Shoppe, and we got sooo much done that day... I love to just scrap and have fun with some friends all day:-)
Till next time!!!!

wanted to try these for a while
my friend Tracey made these years ago when we worked at SCU together. I thought it being close to Easter and Dain needing a class snack, it would be an awesome treat to bring!
Crush some fruit loops, mix in with rice crispies, melt butter and marshmallows, stir in rice crispie/fruit loop mix. Using damp hands roll into a ball, squish a flat center, then get a very happy and helpful 5 year-old to add Eggies (3 for each nest). They are sooo cute, and they tasted yummy too!

weekend away....
so we survived the Creative Gathering - I will post pics at some point either here or the website, but I had to have other take pics because I was tooo busy running around all weekend!!! which in a way is probably good because I have "misplaced" my camera!!! I am a little stressed about it too, I NEED my camera - don't get me wrong, I have a great Nikon, but this is my little sony cybershot - perfect for my purse, takes great videos and takes pics email size for store emails- that is the biggest reason I need to find it! So the hunt continues, I have not seen it since the creative gathering, I think I will call the 55 plus tomorrow in case, by some off chance it fell out of my purse or something.
As for this weekend, I am taking off to a cottage to....SCRAPBOOK!!!! Yep, me and 2 other friends, going to be staying up late! getting up early, eating junk and scrappin ALLL weekend long! My goal is at least 40 layouts (you see I need to get a handle on my pics too!) I will let you know how I did when the weekend is done:-)
Have a great one!

Trade Show pics...
so every year I head over to Edmonton in Feb for a trade show - to see that latest and greatest in scrapbooking products and techniques. I took my sister Jen along (she would say she comes to keep me organized:-) I am the creative brain, who get distracted by all the pretty things and she really does keep me organized, and makes me remember I am there to order, handles my pre-orders, and writes up things that I point to and say "I like that"
I love our girl time together as we create, scrap and shop for awesome products for the store together!
Here are some fun pics from our weekend!
My sister LOVING her Clearsnap class goodies!
Liz from Tattered Angels was a real sweetie, she signed my book that she like my hair:-)
8 classes in 3 days was lots, but we had a FABULOUS time! Looking forward to next year!
