inspiration comes from many places...

and does not always pertain to paper either!  When I have time, I like to dabble in all sorts of things, I always say if I would let myself I would be a "collector"of fabric - oooo all the lovely colors and patterns - I just love it!  And then flowers, I love those soo much (lucky for me my hubby knows that and get I blessed with them every so often)...and then there is decorating for Christmas!  I will be honest with you, I used to LOVE it!! Before kids, Mark and I would put lights all over the house inside and outside, I would do something different with lights, garland, wreaths and more every holiday season!  and then kids came along...and I will be honest with you, I just didn't have the time, or the energy to add decorating to the list on top of babies, diapers and more! I felt very overwhelmed with everything - I simply could not decorate and enjoy the same way I did.

Well it's good that life has it's seasons, and that as your family grows and changes, your energy and time changes with it.  This year, really for the 1st time in a long time, I felt like doing more than just putting up a tree in the house...In Nov I picked up the Christmas issue of Style at Home magazine and it had such lovely pictures in it...I was inspired, totally!  So on Monday morning, I headed over to Oakridge greenhouse and started to look around for some items to do up a few Holiday arrangements!
Seriously, fall has been pretty busy for me, so this is what they looked like before I started -

yes - they looked terrible, I had not even pulled out the dead flowers!! I am soo ashamed:-(

Anyways that was all about to change - with this bag of goodies!
now the red berries were from a past Christmas, the poplar branches, were from a floral arrangement I received in the past - I love to keep special things and "recycle" them in a new way.
So after some arranging and playing this is what I came up with!

the "after" shot of my front entrace...

I totally feel like this is soo much more of a representation of me and my family,
and it really was soo fun to do!
Thanks for taking this little journey of "no paper" with me today (there is a fabric ribbon around the one planter though!)

I hope you feel inspired!

a scraplift...

I do it too, I get inspired from a photo, someone's blog, a magazine...I look at my stuff, and create something close, not exact but close....  I saw this photo on the cover of this magazine

and then I had these really great HUGE bottle - caps from Maya Road here at the store and have been wanting to use them for a while...

and I think the paper that was used was absolutely adorable, and what do you know, we had it in the store:-)

So I came up with this...

close, but not quite, with my own spin on it!  The rub-on snowflake by Basic Grey went on surprisingly well onto the metal!  I held the metal bottle-cap onto my page with glue dots.  Now to find some bright and cheery pics to add to it!

I hope you feel inspired!

new sign for the door :-)

so some of you have heard already, we are getting a new store!!!
Sooo exciting - we are just moving 1 door over, but it will be a change, in colors and in size - I am soo looking forward to a larger class area, and a better organized and more spacious sales floor & storage room!
when are we moving??? Not quite sure as there is still a bit of work to be done, but soon:-)
In the meantime, here is the new sign for the door - using Tradition from Fancy Pants Designs!

Blinging up this tree was lots of fun, I just dug through for various brads and rhinestones to dress it up, this would make an amazing scrapbook page for Christmas!

I hope you feel inspired!

As well- Connie created this adorable 2 page layout called "Gifts of Love"

Love the combination of all the patterned paper and the Chipboard - and those letters, Doodlebug!
I hope you feel inspired!

Spreading some Winter Joy...

This 2 page 12x12 layout is made with Winter Joy by Bo-Bunny - such a unique Christmas line, teals & purples and greens...so pretty! Shannon (cottage girl) created this layout with black & white photos and it just shoes off the colors of the paper so vibrantly!

above- the trees were cut out of the patterned paper and added on to the paper with pop-dots- cute detail!
the sparkle brads are from the line as well. The little snowflake comes from ribbon, just cut apart and accented with a little bit of stickles:-)

I hope you feel inspired!
